InStress - ExStress

WHOA!? It's almost december now! For me it's a sign to begin the countdown - in less than 6 months the exams will begin and in 5 months the "cram"-period would start... It's scary to think that the time pass so fast, but i try to forget and get the most out of my days. It's really cold in Denmark and according to the weather forecast it is going to snow this friday.. THIS FRIDAY !!!??? HELL NOOO !!! I DON'T EVEN HAVE A WINTER COAT NOR A GOOD PAIR OF WINTER BOOTS YET !`!??!?!?!? ARRRGHHHHHH...... I've my eyes glued for some pairs on the internet but many of them are too expensive and i'm currently short on money...

Okay.. Since I haven't blogged for a while I think I would like to share my "calendar" for the past week and for the next few days.

Friday: went to Julie's class party. 1/5 of the night was used to act like a mother, 2/5 to sneak in the kids' movie theatre, 1/5 to pretend to like the horrible food and 1/5 to focus on Dennis only.

Saturday: Double-date! celebrated anniversary... with Dennis and Julie... Ate sushi for breakfast!! :D
Did some gift shopping but used the most of the time to hang out in the electronic section in Bilka (GIANT supermarket/department store)

Sunday: Church and finished assignment for social studies.

Monday: Had two presentations in school and a really long day. Just finished my geography assignment due tonight. The doctors removed Dennis' cast !! :D

Comming plans:

Tuesday: work with new geography and new math assignment due the 30th.

Wednesday: repeat tuesday, and buy food for the weekend.

Thursday: Homework...

Friday: hand-in assignments

Saturday: CHRISTMASPARTY!

Sunday: work again.

Goodnight peeps!

Btw.  I can't upload pictures because i don't have any space left on my flickr account so there for i have to upgrade it soon... Maybe i even buy a domain for the blog !  :D

vampires don't eat

Blog update.
Yesterday i went to Dennis' class party and it was pretty fun.  At first it was boring because i had no one around my age to talk to, but instead of chatting with the other parents about "their" kids, i played around with the minions instead. We played a lot of different games and they were all so energetic all the time that when the parents called us for dessert we did the boogie all the way down to the dining hall. After  we finished, they all surrounded me and i had to play with them again.  I'm actually glad that i could use what i've learnt from the DUK-activities.
come to think of it. Oh NO ! I have a stack of assignments waiting for me and i've been sick for some time now, so i don't feel like i have any kind of energy for them…..

Which reminds me of....

The other day Julie, Dennis and I did our homework together and suddenly my dad came in asking if any of us had gotten any better (read: we're sick). We all yelled like "NOOO" and "NEIN" and then he threw mini Twister ice pops after us. BTW. I've finally reached a milestone! My dad isn't too strict about what Julie and I eat anymore and that's because it has finally got into his mind that  a 12 year old should not diet nor starve to lose weight. He's afraid that Julie won't grow taller or that she might get have an eating disorder someday. I'm glad he realized it (yeah if he didn't after countless discussions about the topic, there would be something completely wrong with him).
Anything else i wanted to share ?.......
I'm going to eat dinner with my friends tomorrow ! We have a fishmarket-date (Name of an icelandic cookbook)!:D
.... and help the Nun at the church..... and take a bath.... and maybe cut my hair... and maybe  get rid of that butterfly that has been living in my room for a month ... I can't believe it's still alive...

One thing i want to share with you guys !
As you all know the last twilight saga movie just hit the cinemas the other day and yes, i'm going to see it with my friends because since the first movie, we have had like a date every time a new movie in the series premiere ;)
- but that was not what i was going to talk about.. heheh i get off topic easily.. XD

Out of all the "teenagers" in the movie - who is the oldest ?
so Rob P. is 26, Kirsten is 22, taylor is 20, ashley greene(alice) is  some few years older than kirsten, kellan Lutz(the guy that plays emmett) one year younger than "Jasper" , Nikki Reed(rosalie) is two years younger than Rob,  jackson rathbone (Jasper) is older than Rob... and count "bella's classmates" in this too.
.... so have you guessed it ? Who is the oldest actor among them ?

The oldest of them happen to be Justin Chon aka Eric (the Chinese guy in the twilight movies).
Just try to guess his age before you click on this link: http://youtu.be/9ceWzQcKRrE

Yeah, there must be something about asians and age huh ? ;)

I'm not a big fan of the series - either the book nor the movies, but i have to finish what i've started. I'm neither on team Jacob, Bella or Edward etc. I like vampires though, but not this one, because i think something is wrong about vampires shimmering in daylight. Actually in this picture i find Rob (effortlessly) handsome while being chased by my fav president, hahah XD

exactly - no shimmer at all, and that suits him well. BUT i did have a crush on him when he portrayed as Cedric in Harry Potter ;)

DOH ! i have to leave now because i have to pick up my pizza :p

Good weekend!

work for money you don't earn.

I had a day off from school wednesday  because it was the "operation dagsværk"-day. OD-day which it's also called,  is a day that students work and donate the money they earn to charity. This year all the money goes to different projects in Iraq which helps vulnerable children. I found the organization's  "purpose" on their website and just translated the whole thing through google translate ^^

purpose:

Grassroots want to give young women and men in Iraq the chance to be young - and the opportunity to give the next generation the opportunities they never had.
Grassroots will establish a youth movement that through education of 'union pilots' and local club activities will encourage and prepare a generation of young people to participate in society, to influence and contribute to building a peaceful and democratic Iraq.

I'm proud to say that i've worked my ass of this time ;)
Last year i worked at a restaurant in Odense for 6-7 hours straight and i earned 300 kr., but this time i took two jobs and earned more than 5 times the money i earned last year and actually in a shorter amount of time XD! I took different jobs around here in Denmark, because i couldn't find a job close to where i live. I got a worker-pas which meant i could travel all around Denmark with bus and train - free of charge. My first job was at a children's theatre close to the habour so it was darn cold ! There were to many buildings and i was lost until i got some reliable directions that i could follow, than my stupid iphone. the office was located in this old, scary looking building, but inside was quite cozy. There was sofas, kitchen and small fireplace. The decorations were colorful and really creatively made.  My job was quite simple - i had to collect cards, put them in piles of ten in each, secure them with a rubber band and then pack them into bags. Each bag should have 8 sets and one set contained 10 piles so let me break it down:

1 bag= 8 sets = 10 piles = 10 cards   --> 10*10*8 = 800 cards in one bag = 80 rubber bands.

The job itself was easy enough and the manager of the theatre was really kind. She bought me croissants for breakfast and made me a cup of tea, before I started to pack. I tried to get as much done as i could and finished 2 bags myself and then i manager wanted to join me and we finished 3 together in no time. We made a funny system: she collected the cards, i put the rubber band around them and put them into piles, sets and then bags. We had a really fun time together, because she loved to travel and loved to talk about amazons and other amazing places she had been to. She shoved me some pictures from her holiday and so did i. I shoved her my pictures from Iceland and grand canyon ^^
I only worked 3.5 hour because she had to go to the post office and offered me a ride to the train station. I went happily from there with 400 kr. in my pocket because i earned more than last year in no time and this job was actually fun and not as hard as the job i had last year.
I had another job later in that day in another town, so i had to take the train, but if i went there immediately i would be there too early, so i got myself some dinner in the meantime ^^.

The reason why i took two jobs was because i thought that i wouldn't earn enough on my afternoon job. The description of the job said that i had to take some cans to the vending machine to recycle them and get the money as my salary. I thought that i would earn about 200, but when i came to that dear man, he surprised me .... with 8 trash-bags(REALLY BIG BAGS) full of cans. I only had an hour to put them all in the vending machine ( i thought it was a single bag i had to empty?? =!=##=“£“@€) and just before the supermarket closed i cashed in an 1100 dkr. receipt and got the money. one can is worth 1 kr. which means  i've recycled 1100 cans ?!!!! :O and under an hour ??!!! :O and i even had one bag left! I took it home and came to Odense again around 23 o'clock and got my mother to pick me up ;)

I'm so glad that i've earned a lot and really happy that i can donate the money for a good purpose. I might be the person who had earned the most i my school.. so... i might even win a little prize myself.  ^^

Overall  it feels GREAT to know that i did my best and that i actually can help somebody. I was so tired on the way home, but i couldn't stop smiling ^^

Oh and another thing i want to talk about when it comes to charity is the whole "movember "-trend. I know it's fun and everything, but don't forget the purpose behind it - it's for charity. I talked to my boyfriend an encouraged him to grow one and i've already offered a sum of money to support his beard/ the "cancer society".  I think everybody has to try - just once in a while, to do something that will help others without wanting anything in return, because it feels great.

Good weekend guys ^^

Con thương ba

thi con giống mẹ.
- The sentence above is a line from a vietnamese children's song.

Yesterday was my father's 50th birthday and the man is getting quite old now. It's really weird to think of that just a decade ago everything was different. He could throw me up in the air, take me to the amusements park and make me try every single ride that almost made me piss in my pants - just by looking at them. Now i'm too heavy, too tall and too old, but he is still the same person in heart. A lot has happened the past decade: we've experienced the small miracles that both create a life and also stop one. Also what it means to have success in life and the meaning of being happy - because they do not always go hand in hand. He taught me be to be thankful.  but now how to spell

Yesterday i went from town to town, with bus and train, crossed oceans and land(almost**) to get my father THE birthday cake and i found one. Just perfect for him. I took the cake to his workplace to surprise him, but he'd already left when i got there. I called him about 30 times and with no answer i had to take the train home and the cake got cold because it was quite windy. But it was all worth it. At first he was mad at me for coming home late and he did not believe that i went to his workplace, but when he saw the cake he understood. We sang a couple of times, he wished and blew the candles and then i went to bed because i was too exhausted - Too exhausted even for a piece of cake !!!
I had walked around with the cake for about 5 hours and i was so frustrated when i couldn't reach my dad on the phone, so in the end of the day i was left without any kind of energy.

Happy Birthday dad !
